Plan Your Move

Tips and list of things to note after you schedule your move with US International Movers Inc,

-Go around the house and divide your items between the items you wish to ship to the items you don’t.

-Call US International Movers Inc office and have a phone consultation, this should take anytime between 15-25 minutes

-Have either onsite or visual remote survey by a US International Movers Inc representative to get a final quote

-Make sure you have all documentation in place (some countries require documentation from the consulate prior to departure) US International Movers Inc representative can guide you

– Schedule your moving date

– Start packing items you won’t be needing for a few months, such as books, rarely-used household items, and out-of-season clothing (we recommend having the movers professionally pack fragile items, instead of self-packing) not to self-pack fragile items and have the movers professionally pack them)

– Label and number all boxes; keep an inventory of each box number and what it contains

– Arrange medical records for all family members and pets

– Take into consideration that the container will be travelling between 30 to 60 days on the ocean, therefore, arrange a place to stay in the meantime

– Pack a bag with everything you will be needing for the 1st month: clothing, makeup, medicine, etc.

– If one parent is traveling before the other, make that parent has a power of attorney

– Contact US International Movers Inc to inform us on any changes on the inventory initially given

-Email US International Movers Inc all passport copies, visa, certificate of residency (if required by the country you are moving to) or any other documents you think we may need for smooth customs clearance abroad.

-Mark clearly, for our movers, what items are staying and what items will be shipped to avoid any confusions.

-The moving crew’s time of arrival will be confirmed a day before, by your regional manager from our operation department and the crew will arrive at that time (in some cases we need to provide up to 4 hour window for the crew arrival).

-If you booked a direct load into a container (in some cases due to port congestion or shortage of equipment we will need to double handle into our warehouse? Do we need to clarify double handle?) the container will arrive 4-5 hours after the packing crew for loading, if the service is booked for full packing for 40’ container it most likely be the next day to allow the crew full day of packing.

-When the movers arrive, have a tour around the house with them and show them in each room what items are shipped and what items are staying behind, if you require any special packing or extra attention for specific items, please mention it to the foremen at that time.

-The movers will bring all different types of forms for you to fill up, some forms are legally required to be filled out, such as an inventory list, and some other forms will be required by last-minute updated information you may provide us such as new addresses, phone numbers, contact people abroad.

-Make a last tour around the house to make sure the movers took all the items you wanted to ship.

We are sensitive to your needs, and look for those special requirements to be sure that we fully understand and we’re prepared to provide the required services, assuring your international move is seamless.
